EQ4Peace & Innovation: Attempting to Help Others in Need

EQ4Peace.org continues to show its innovative side by continuing to help people achieve the life that they desire. We are keenly aware that life offers sometimes unbelievable challenges that we have to overcome. The COVID pandemic, for one, has been an extremely difficult one to navigate. It still is.

Sometimes for a variety of reasons, what life is giving us at the moment appears to be more than one person can handle. That explains, in simple terms, the reason why depression is one the highest-ranking illnesses in the civilized world, and why suicides are still common occurrences.

EQ4Peace is making attempts to help those who suffer silently with these thoughts and feelings. For one thing, its newsletter (in process), EQ4Peace.org, offers a column called Moodboosters. These are helpful hints when our depression is not so deep, but we need something to lift our spirits in the moment. They don’t take much in the way of preparation and can be done at any time day or night. It’s author, Deborah Havert, keeps a growing repertoire of ideas to help us. Check them out as EQ4Peace.org/moodboosters.

In addition, EQ4Peace’s CEO, Matt Perelstein, continues to offer workshops about depression and suicide. In them he addresses these topics as well as others including emotional intelligence, mental well-being, and mindfulness. Check the website for upcoming workshops.

EQ4Peace has also established something for people who are distressed and in need of something to change our mindset as soon as possible. It has created practical kits that can be purchased with the sole purpose of disrupting any downward mental spirals and resulting paralysis or hesitancy. Sometimes we just need “something” to change our mindset and get us off of the couch. The kits contain a variety of materials to inspire, uplift our spirits, and hopefully to motivate us.   They include a variety of art supplies already to be used, materials for reflecting and quieting our minds, and a few materials for making us move a bit. All of these materials can be used alone or with others. The kids include all of the materials to get started. These can be purchased at EQ4Peace.org/merchandise for $25 + shipping or contact Matt@EQ4peace.org.

And finally, one of our EQ4Peace members offers a Facebook page devoted to looking at our emotions, lifting our spirits, and so much more. The page is called, Teach Emotion, and its author is Dr. Barbara Fatum. On her site, she offers us a continuing set of relevant and thought-provoking quotes, a list of upcoming events, and information about emotional intelligence and other related topics. You can find it at Teach Emotion on Facebook.

In these ways and others, EQ4Peace is attempting to put up roadblocks to things and thinking that get in the way of living the life we desire. Check them out.

Thanks.
Bill
