Bio
Dess Mardan Basnet, PhD was born in Tarakeshwor Municipality-6, Dharmasthali, Kathmandu, Nepal in 1975. He received a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research University, India in 2021. Thesis: The Relationship between Personality traits, Self-efficacy, and Organizational Commitment among Employees selected Nepalese Saving and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOS). He received a Master of Business Studies (MBS) from the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University. He specialized in International Marketing and Marketing Research for his master’s degree from Shankar Dev Campus, Tribhuvan University in 2007. He served as a Founder/Managing Director of Accurate English Institute and Consultancy, Putalisadak, Kathmandu, Nepal from 1999-2001. He did Academic Administrative work at People’s Campus, MBS Program, Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University from 2007 – 2016. He has served as an Administrative Officer for Junior Achievement (JA) Nepal as INGOs, a member of JA Worldwide, the USA from 2005 to 2007. Dr. Basnet also handled Child Social and Financial Education program of Aflatoun International through JA Nepal Chapter. Dr. Basnet taught Organizational Behavior (OB) Faculty of Management & Law at Nepal Open University (NOU) from 2021-2023.
Dr. Basnet served as Founder/Secretary General for 8 years in Bachan Saving and Credit Cooperative Limited. He has been serving as a Managing Director (CEO) in Bachan Saving and Credit Cooperative Limited from 2008-till date with the balance-sheet equivalent to £ 20,24137. He has done philanthropic work for World Without Anger (WWA) from the 2007-till date as Founder/President. All these services cumulatively indicated about 18 years of his untiring work efficiency. He served as the Managing Editor of World Without Anger International Journal to date. He served as Managing Editor affiliated with Cambridge Scholars Publishing, U.K., from 2013 to 2018. He is a Founder/Board of Director Member of EQ4Peace Worldwide Inc., USA from 2019 to date. Dr. Basnet has consulted for the Emotional Intelligence Education Program Life Without Anger (LWA) in Nepal schools since 2007.
He has been busy with research projects and has contributed seven research papers on emotional intelligence, anger management, personality, self-efficacy, and organizational commitment to international journals. He completed his doctoral degree from the Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research University, Udaipur, India in 2021.
